Our Story

Welcome to 11:11 Yoga Studio, a peaceful haven for spiritual wellness in the heart of Calne. Here, we bring people together in a warm, vibrant yoga community—one that’s welcoming, inclusive, and free of judgment. We’re dedicated to creating a safe space where everyone feels inspired, supported, and empowered to explore their own path of healing and self-awareness.

 

The journey to 11:11 Yoga Studio began with a personal sign: each day, while working as a headhunter in 2009, I noticed the time often read 11:11. This number became a quiet reminder, guiding me along my spiritual path. Around that same time, I discovered yoga, met my husband, and gradually felt a calling to leave the corporate world to teach. Opening this studio was my way of embracing that sign—a place dedicated to helping others reconnect and grow. I still see 11:11 daily, a gentle nudge that I'm on the right path.

 

In numerology, 11 is a master number, symbolising intuition, dreams, and spiritual guidance. At the studio, we have a board that reads: “11:11: An invitation to awaken, to see the bigger picture, and to connect with the spirit within. Take a breath, quiet the mind, and look within.”

 

11:11 Yoga Studio is a calm, inviting, and uplifting space. Whether you’re new to yoga or experienced, you’ll feel at ease here. Our studio is dedicated to inclusivity and accessibility, where each person can find balance, unwind, and feel re-energised. Rooted in the true spirit of yoga, 11:11 offers a mindful, positive experience, leaving you grounded, refreshed, and ready to step into your day.

Gemma Harris

Founder and lead teacher of 11:11 Yoga Studio, Gemma opened her studio in early 2020 and is grateful for the ongoing support of the community. She believes yoga is a grounding force in life, a practice that brings balance when everything else feels chaotic. For Gemma, yoga is both a lifestyle and a way to reconnect with oneself, and she’s committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for all to experience its benefits.

Mark

Mark discovered yoga 10 years ago in Toronto to relieve chronic neck and back pain. Within weeks of practicing Ashtanga, he experienced improved posture, strength, and flexibility—transforming his approach to whole-body health and wellbeing.

In 2024, he began yoga teacher training to share its benefits with others. His classes blend energetic Vinyasa and Hatha flows, incorporating Ashtanga principles, breathwork, and Somatic movement to enhance strength, confidence, and mindfulness

Monika

Monika's yoga journey began in the serene Himalayas of India when she was just 6 years old.

Her lifelong dedication to traditional yoga has become a deep-rooted passion that she now shares with others.

Specialising in yoga as a holistic approach to wellness, Monika's practice emphasises not only mental and physical healing but also mindful weight management through ancient techniques

Mimi

With over 15 years of yoga practice, Mimi initially turned to yoga for healing after a back injury.

She quickly discovered the mental clarity and peace that yoga provides, a gift she now shares as an instructor.

Having completed her 500-hour training in Indonesia, she’s taught worldwide and is currently studying Biomedicine and Nutrition, bringing a holistic approach to her teaching.

Beth

Beth found a safe haven in yoga—a place to pause, breathe, and escape from the stresses of life.

Her practice changed her perspective, reminding her of the deeper beauty of life beyond what we see.

Beth is passionate about sharing this sense of peace and purpose, helping others find stillness and grounding on the mat.

Rosanna

Rosanna’s journey with yoga began 15 years ago, after discovering the profound benefits of practice with her favourite teacher.

Now, as a Birth keeper and Doula, she specialises in Women’s Yoga, including Mama & Baby and Pre/Postnatal sessions.

Her classes are gentle, nurturing, and deeply relaxing, offering a supportive space for women through all stages of life and motherhood.

Meg

For Meg, yoga has been a sanctuary, offering both mental and physical benefits that bring relief from the busyness of life.

She views her practice as a way to reconnect with the mind and body, cultivating self-awareness and acceptance.

Her love for yoga has only grown over the years, and she is deeply committed to sharing its transformative effects with others on and off the mat.

Gemma Jade

Gemma discovered yoga over a decade ago, beginning with a focus on the physical, only to find it transforming her life far beyond the mat.

For her, yoga is a daily sanctuary - a moment to find peace, balance, and clarity amid the demands of life. Mindful movement and breath work help her connect with her inner self, release stress, and nurture resilience, both physically and mentally.

Gemma is passionate about sharing the depth and beauty of yoga, helping others experience its power.

“Surrounded by artisan shops and cafés, 11:11 has a wholesome, welcoming vibe. It’s a beautiful, open-plan studio, with a sophisticated temperature controlled heating system set to keep the room at 35-40 degrees (depending on the class). From prenatal yoga, OAP and advanced classes, the studio welcomes students from all backgrounds, ages, and abilities.”
